First Visit
Your initial visit will start of a thorough evaluation and imaging (2D and 3D when deemed necessary) to ensure that the anticipated endodontic treatment is, indeed, indicated and will solve your tooth problem. In most cases root canal treatments are completed in one appointment; however, depending on the condition of your tooth and the canal anatomy a medicated paste may be needed, and completion of treatment will be scheduled at a later date. Please allow approximately two hours from the time you check-in for paperwork, evaluation, imaging and potential completion of endodontic treatment. Also, please let the front desk staff know, upon check-in if you are interested in Nitrous Oxide.
*If you have had a root canal treatment before and are having trouble with the tooth again there are often multiple treatment options; therefore, evaluation only appointments are required for all potential retreatments and/or apical surgeries such as an Apicoectomy.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Your referral slip and any X-rays if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- Your Dental Insurance card and primary cardholder information.
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication prior to dental appointment/cleanings (i.e antibiotics, for pre-med.)
